The work of artists at Gallery van Waaijen is linked by a shared fascination with the relationship between humans, nature and time. Although each artist uses their own visual language and choice of materials, there is a recognizable coherence in theme and atmosphere.
Nature plays a central role in the artists’ work — not only as a subject, but also as a source of inspiration and sometimes literally as a material. Organic forms, earthy structures and subtle references to growth, erosion and landscape recur throughout. The materials used — from stone and wood to textiles and pigment — reinforce the sense of connection with natural processes.
Transience is also a recurring motif. An awareness of time: traces of change, cycles of creation and decay, and transformation. In the sculptures, this is expressed in robust, weathered forms; in the 2D artworks, in layering, fragility and refined structures.
What characterizes the work above all is tranquility. No bold statements, but space for contemplation and personal interpretation. The artworks invites to slow down and pay attention – to re-experience matter, form and time. They create a world in which nature, humanity and transience come together.

Het is de techniek waarbij Annette aan de foto’s borduurwerk toevoegt, die haar werk bijzonder maakt. Hier wordt als het ware geschilderd met naald en draad.
Opvallend is dat een arbeidsintensieve ‘uit de tijd techniek’ als borduren, dat toch al een wat stoffig imago heeft, hier zo overtuigend geactualiseerd wordt gebruikt binnen de hedendaagse fotografie.
Het werk van Jos Out is blijvend onderzoekend. Jos leert van het maken van een beeld, gefascineerd door ieder maakproces dat steeds weer anders is.
Jos probeert het begrip Polariteit, als essentieel onderdeel van ons bestaan, in haar werk tot uitdrukking te brengen. De zachtheid van het beeld in relatie tot de hardheid van de gebruikte materialen.
Jos is gefascineerd door lijnen en beweging. Hoe kun je door het minimale te doen toch het maximaal bereiken? De zeggingskracht zit voor haar niet in het grote of het robuuste maar in het fijne, in de subtiele beweging.
Het werk van Noor Geurts gaat over organische vormen in landschappelijke omgevingen.
De onderwaterlandschappen zijn op de grens tussen figuratie en abstractie. Wat zij in haar schilderijen wil laten zien is het mysterie en de vertraagde beweging van een niet zichtbare wereld. Een schijnbaar natuurlijk proces in
inkt, ei-tempera en graffitiverf.
